A Yummy Hot Dog

I have a few guilty food confessions and we have already discussed one; which, is my love for burgers. Another happens to be a good hot dog.  I don't mean a polish dog or whatever glorified thing they are calling it these days, I mean a snap when you take a bit kind of dog.
Some of the family fav's are Nathans or Hebrew Nationals.  I simply like the Ball Park.  What ever your choice it doesn't matter it is usually the sauce and stuff that matters.  At a BBQ I am usually a yellow mustard with a ton of relish or if I want to kick it up I'll do spicy brown mustard with sauerkraut.
But the other night we had about fifteen 15-16 year olds over for game night and they wanted "J Dawgs"  what's that you ask?  Click here for J Dawgs site  it is a neat little joint in our city that serves up "dawgs" with a really good sauce.  Since the sauce was what the kids were wanting I went down a bought some of the sauce and I think the night and the food was a huge hit!

Don't have a J Dawgs near you, but want to recreate the Yumminess at home?
Hear is a recipe I found for the sauce (found here):

Copy Cat JDawgs Sauce
3/4 C Ketchup
3/4 C BBQ Sauce (Make sure it is a good quality and it might be good to use a honey bbq)
1/4 C Honey
1 tsp. Apply Cider
1 tsp. Soy Sauce
1/2 tsp. Onion Powder
{mix together}

and for a little extra goodness we caramelized some onions:

1 Yellow Onion (chopped into long strips)
1/2 C. Worcestershire Sauce
Put onions in a non-stick skillet and let them sweat.  After 2 minutes add in Worcestershire sauce let it come to a boil and reduce down.  When the sauce is syrupy and the onion are coated it is done.  About 5-7 minutes.

Happy Saturday

6x's cleaner 6x's better looking skin!

Where to begin?  I found out about this product about a year ago.  It was soccer season for C and I ran into one of my most favorite childhood friends.  She was a couple of years older than me and I idolized her as a kid.  Pretty, sweet, smart, and kind.  As we got to talking she said that she read this blog and was waiting for me to do a post on "her" favorite product.  I asked what it was and her response was foreign to me.  I had never heard of it before.  She told me all of the things that she loved about it and said it was a MUST TRY.  I did a little research and my only hick up was the cost.  It seemed a little pricey considering that my hands are 'free' and pretty much did the same thing.
Around the holidays my skin went in freak out mode and I was reaching out for any help I could get.  I decided to ask for the product for Christmas and since then I have had a very clean and happy face!

What is it?
While cleansing is the first step in any skin care ritual, it is often over looked.  Typical manual cleansing can leave behind dirt and oil trapped in pores.  This build-up can damage the appearance and health of your skin and keep you skin care products for working like they should.
Used and rcommended by spas and dermatologists, Clarisonic Sonic Skin Cleansing Systems use a patented sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to gently, yet thoroughly remove 6X more makeup and 2X more dirt and oil than cleansing with you hands alson.  Cleaner skin is the first step toward healthier skin.  And healthier skin is smoother, more radian and more beautiful.
Sonic Cleansing benefits:
Removes 6X more make than manual cleansin
Leaves skin feeling and looking smother
Removes impurities that keep creams and serums from working their best
gentle enough to use twice a day
reduces oily areas, dry skin patches and blemishes
minimizes the appearance of visible pores

What does b* say?
I was very excited about this product.  I thought if it really does everything that it states under the benefits list it is simply a miracle.  But, I was still skeptical!  The first night I got it I washed my face as I did every other night, then I used my Clarisonic.  After letting it do it's thing I looked at the brush head and was totally grossed out!  It still had a large about of makeup and debris on the brush.  I showed it to my husband and said, "holy cow,  it that was what was left on my face imagine how many years I have been going to sleep with an unclean face."  I mean no wonder I have had breakouts my whole teenage and adult life.  I kid you not, in the last month and a half my skin has been more fresh and clearer than it has ever been.  This product is an investment but I have to say if having clean healthier looking skin is enticing to you then it it worth it!  I have the Clarisonic Classic it has two speeds and I use the sensitive head.  I use it with my own product but some of the systems comes with some samples.  It seems to be the combo for me.  There are a plethora of options and you will need to research them to find the on that suits your skin best.  For all of you frustrated face people.  Stress no longer!
I found a few coupons online for the systems try these...

I was trying to find an alternate system at a lower price point and this is what I found...
Has anybody used it?

Momma B*

Today's post is coming in late because it has been an interestingly emotional day.
Yesterday this angel on earth
while on her morning 4am wog (walk\jog) slipped on some ice and broke her shoulder.  Not only in one spot but four.  We are not talking a simple hairline fracture, my dad said the x-ray looked like she had a chisel taken to her bone.  It really is hard to believe!
Moms, especially mine, are indestructible or so we think.  But those super-heros that we youngsters have created in are minds are simple humans just like us.  As I walked into here bedroom this afternoon I was struck with emotions.  Helpless emotions.  Up until this point in my life my mom has been really healthy.  No major sickness (knock on wood).  Today was different.  Instead of mom taking care of me; which, she has done day in and day out for a quarter of a century, I was able to help her.  We brush her hair and then made it into the kitchen for some soup, chatted a bit then slowly made it back to her bed where she could rest.  She is strong!  Stronger than any other person I know.  But today she was fragile.  It was sweet.  I am glad she is my momma and so fortunate to be her daughter.
I love her!

My Mom

The question is...
Who is yours?  And have you told them how much you love them or how important they are to you today?

Happy Hump Day

Instead of doing one of the many drastic aforementioned alterations to my hair.
I decided to give the B*log.  a facelift.
What do y'all think?

Don't know why folks but today I am in a rut.
You know the kind when you wake up and look in the mirror and everything seems to be wrong.
My morning thoughts went like this...
1. Wow, you look large and Pale.  You need a tan.
2. Maybe it's your hair.  You should cut it.  It's not really blonde or brown.  You should pick one.  How about a blonde A-line with bangs.
3.  Your face is splotchy - Shoot you forgot to moisturize last night.
4. You really should not have polished off that cinnamon roll last night - it's gonna cost ya
4.  Your late shut-up and put some clothes on.  Clothes arrgg... wear something stretchy it is going to be an uncomfortable day!

And then this little sweet thing walked in my bathroom
and said... "Hi mommy, what ya doing."
I had been in here beating my self up.  As I stared at my beautiful, innocent, GORGEOUS little one all I could think was I never want her to think or feel anything that I just did.  She is too sweet.  And the only way to keep those insecurities from her is to put mine to rest.  We are all children of God.  Special and Beautiful in our own right.  I am me for a reason and I need to be my best!

A Frizzy Fix

Don't forget about the Lash Extension Giveaway!
I am not much of a product head and my stylist has been trying to put this in my hair for years.  I always refuse and tell her that "it will make my hair staticky and greasy".  And that is with any product.  Last weekend when we were in LA I received a "shwag" bag and this happened to be in it.  I have used it the last 3 washes and I have to say that I am HOOKED.  My hair is smooth, less frizzy, and happens to dry faster.  What is it?

Product description: Is a unique, argan oil infused formula that instantly absorbs into the hair to produce luminous shine and silky perfection in all hair types.  A conditioning, styling and finishing tool, it also reduces blow-dry and styling time by strengthening the hair, untangling and improving manageability.
Price: $34.00+

In town Amara online: Amazon

What does b* say?
I really do not use much product on my hair.  I only use a leave-in-conditioner and on the rare occasion an arisol hair spray.  It took me a few times to figure out how much Moroccan oil to apply to my hair and once I got that down, less than a dime size, it was perfect.  It reduces the frizz, leaves it silky smooth, and drys in half the time.  It also says it alleviates split ends and brittleness...SWEET.  As I was doing some research on their site I saw that they offer a Moroccan oil Light Treatment (for blonde, fine or light-colored hair).  I think I will try this once mine runs out.
Have any of you tried the Light?  If so... What did you think?

The dress and get up

Here are pic's of the Dress and the rest.

The Prep for the Big Night

I have been getting ready for this little shindig coming up for a week now.  It seems like it is all I am talking about... I promise it is almost over.  Thank heavens, but I wanted to share with you 2 of my get ready tips that I thought were worth sharing.

When these first came out I was very skeptical.  I thought the eye?  No way.  I am not going there way to close to... well the eye!  What am I talking about?  Today's

Eye Lash Extensions

Who gets them? Apparently everyone.  I had no idea I was so behind the eight ball.  All I can say is I am in love with them.  The neat part is you look great even without make up on and never have to wear mascara.  It adds an amazing pop to your face.

I am not going to say much more about them today.  All I can say is that you will want to MAKE SURE you check back on Monday!

And last but not least I lost 6 pounds in the last 6 days and I thought,
"Hey, if it was successful for me.  Maybe y'all would be interested as well".
Here is the 7 day jump start diet\lifestyle change...

Day 1 1/2: Only Protein.  I know this sound gross but only flesh.  Eggs, chicken, ham, fish (go wild!)
Day 2: (dinner) Any Protein and Veggies (only veggies you cannot have are root vegetables)
Day 3-5: Protein, Veggies (same as above), and Berries (anything ending in berry)
Day 6-7: Same as above except you can add Skim milk, Yogurt, Cheese, and Cottage Cheese (essentially dairy)

I held out on the dairy and just continued days 3-5 through 6-7.  I also worked out for 45 minutes on days 2,4,5,&6.  I typically would not share this because I think it is a personal thing, but I know it helped me and jump started my metabolism I lost 1 1/2% body fat and 6 lbs.  If you were looking I hope this helps!

Check Back on Monday for a Possible GIVEAWAY!
Happy Friday

I bought these the other day at the super market because I though it would a fun accent to our daily Hot Coco. They are darling for the season and taste good to boot.

Jet-Puffed Strawberry HEART Mallow

I found them at my local grocer

And then I got this hair brain idea...

One of my all time favorite cookie is the
I was craving them badly and didn't have any rolos in the house.
These were the modifications I made and I think they will become a new Valentines tradition.

2 1/2 C. Flour
3/4 C. Cocoa Powder
1 Tsp. Baking Soda
{Mix gently until well combined.  You don't want to over work the flour.}
